Tomorrow Adam and I leave for our cabin in the woods. We rented a cabin in western Maryland to spend our first Christmas together. If I can’t go to Montana for Christmas I thought I would do my best to bring Montana to me. I really hope there will be snow on the ground. Last Christmas was my first Christmas without snow. It just wasn't the same.
I am really looking forward to some rest and relaxation. I have a couple magazines that need to be read and I am currently reading The Longest Trip Home which I hope to finish. I am also bringing my camera with the hopes of getting some pictures of Izzy in the snow.
Adam isn’t quite the bookworm I am and I think he is scared he is going to be bored out of his mind. We are bringing the cribbage board and he is also bringing his fly fishing equipment. He knows that now is not the right time of year for fly fishing but it has been five years since he has fished I think he is just excited to get out there. Plus he has the Dolphins/Jets game to look forward to on Sunday and as he has told me multiple times the Dolphins are favored to win by 2 points. I think just the hope of the Dolphins winning will help him survive this isolated get away.
The cabin does not have cable but it does have a DVD player. When my dad had his shoulder surgery my sister and I bought him the first two seasons of Dexter. The DVDs have been passed around the family and now I have them. I can’t think of a better way of spending Christmas than watching a TV show about a serial killer who works for the Miami Metro Police Department as a blood spatter analyst.
I hope everyone has a happy and healthy Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas Jen! Sounds like a great trip you've got planned. Dexter is awesome!! You forgot to mention that he's a serial killer who only kills bad people. There are some tough parts to watch but it's a pretty amazing show. Have a fun trip!
