24 Hours of Booty!!!

This weekend Adam, Charlie and I participated in 24 Hours of Booty. I had originally signed up for this event as a training ride for the half ironman I was going to do in October. But since I can't do that race due to my injury I still decided to make the most of this event.

I have only been swimming so I didn't want to overdo it on the bike. The event started at 1pm and Adam and I rode together for the first hour. I took it nice and easy. It was really hot and humid so we stopped after an hour to get something to drink. The event was on a 2 mile loop so stopping was very convenient. Our team had a bunch of tents sent up so we were able to set our chairs up in the shade. Bootyville was the area that supplied water, poweraid, peanut butter and banana sandwiches (yum!), pretzels, and a lot of other goodies.

After our break we rode for another hour or so. Charlie was at Adam's parents taking her afternoon nap. Once she woke up Wayne and Nikki brought her to the event so she could join us.

Here is Grandma Nikki making sure she was properly hydrated before the ride:

Everyone is having fun!

Charlie took her helmet off within the first mile. Since the course was closed to cars we were not worried. Here she is at the end of her 24 Minutes of Booty!!!

Next year I would love to be able to stay for the entire event and maybe even ride 100+ miles!
