This past month was a huge month, developmentally, for Charlie. She started crawling, pulling up and (I can't believe I am going to type this) SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! She has slept through the night for the past two weeks and it has been glorious!
About two weeks ago Charlie woke up at 12:30 am for the third night in a row. I was annoyed that she was starting a new pattern (for the worse) so I decided I wasn't going to go into her room. I was going to let her cry it out. I had tried this in the past but never made it past 2 or 3 minutes. She fussed and whine (not a full out cry) for about 20 minutes. Adam decided he would go into her room and try to get her back to sleep. There is a reason he is called the Sand Man in our house. But in the last 4-5 months I have been the one getting up with her during the night and she was not happy to see Adam. She screamed and cried louder than I had ever heard. For a minute I thought he dropped her. I stood in the doorway of our bedroom fighting the urge to go rescue her. Adam said she was pushing him away with her arms and legs with every ounce of her being. Hmmm, I wonder where she gets her feistiness from? After 10 minutes he was able to get her back to sleep. This was the first time in several months where she hadn't eaten during the night. When she woke the next morning she was in a great mood so apparently we hadn't caused her too much harm. Since then she has been sleeping from 7pm until 5 or 6 am. It is wonderful!!!
Almost everyone told me to enjoy the time before she is mobile because once she starts crawling she will be into everything. And while she is on the move I love that she can crawl. Now instead of sitting or laying on the floor crying becuase she wants something she can go get it. She is much more content and as long as we keep her out of Izzy's food and water we are all happy.
Once last development is her hair has started growing. She still doesn't have a lot but I can tell that the top is getting longer and her bald spot in the back is almost gone. I had sent a video of Charlie swinging to my parents and my dad said, "I noticed Charlie's hair is growing. I could see her mohawk blowing in the wind!"
Here is the past month in photos. Enjoy!
