I'm Back!

I missed blogging more than I thought I would so I have decided to starting updating this blog again.

Here are some things that have happened in our lives in the last 4 months:

  • We planted a garden. Currently we are growing strawberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, peanuts, herbs, broccoli, sweet potatoes, watermelon, zucchini, acorn squash, onions, lettuce, and green beans. This has been a fun project for Adam and me. It has also been nice to involve Charlie with the project. Technically, the peanut plants belong to her. A vendor a the Farmer's Market gave them to her. She planted them and helps Adam water all of the plants.

  • In March, Adam tiled the kitchen while Charlie and I visited his sister's family in Tulsa, OK. As with most projects, it lasted a lot longer than either of us anticipated. We are both happy with the end result though.

  • In the beginning of April, Charlie had her first real illness, an ear infection. The number one system that she was not feeling well is she wanted to cuddle. Seriously.

  • In April, we traveled to New Jersey for a wedding. It was a lot of driving and a quick weekend but nice to see family we had not seen in a while. When we return on Sunday, I went to the Minute Clinic and came home with antibiotics for a sinus infection. No fun!

  • Adam came down with a sinus infection the following week.

  • The month of May was spent getting health again and doing stuff around the house.

  • I just finished the best book, "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver. I really, really enjoyed this book. I read it for book club so I will find out tomorrow night what everyone else thought of it. But I really liked it (did I already say that?) I borrowed it from the library but want to buy a copy to own. I could easily see myself reading this book yearly.

  • Charlie and I are flying to Montana this Friday. Adam is staying home to install wood floors in our living/dining room area. I am so excited to visit my family! The plane ride will be interesting but Charlie and I went to Target this weekend and bought some new activities (flash cards, coloring books, stickers) and snacks for the plane. We also have a portable DVD player and Charlie LOVES to watch 101 Dalmatians and The Lady and the Tramp. The plane ride will certainly be an adventure but I think we will be just fine.

Pregnancy Update

  • Not much to report other than my official due date is August 19, making me 29 weeks.

  • So far I have been feeling really good. I am not working out as much as much as I would like although Charlie keeps me very active :) I have been swimming a bit and trying to walk a couple times a week. Last week's heat wave sent me indoors but I am planning to take Izzy and Charlie for a walk this evening.

  • This little guy is quite the mover and shaker. This makes Adam and I a little worried. Do not get us wrong, we want him to be a healthy baby but if Charlie is our "calm" child...God help us.

Finally, a picture of our little fish:
