I am trying to remain calm and not get too crazy about this race. I am trying to look at it as an adventure. This is the first time I will be doing something like this.
Here is what the weekend holds:
Friday
- Leave work early
- Get my haircut (I need to look good as I am losing control of all my bodily functions at the finish line)
- Finish packing
- Participate in the Relay for Life.
Saturday
- Drop Izzy off at Adam’s parents
- Drive to Cambridge, MD (hopefully we won’t get stuck in traffic – the bay bridge can be nasty)
- Go to packet pick-up to check-in for the race
- Get bike checked out
- Drop off bike at transition area
- Check into the hotel
- Eat dinner and have a glass of wine!
- Call it a day
Sunday
- Race day! I expect for the race to take me between 7 and 7.5 hours. I probably won’t be done until 3 pm.
Monday
- Drive home – hopefully I will be able to walk and get myself in and out of the car without help!
